This venue by the bakery of the same name (‘Hansel and Gretel’) is one of Zagreb‘s leading health-food restaurants, serving national staples with no preservatives, artificial colouring or GMO ingredients. As well as organic beef, veal, and turkey, there are seitan and tofu dishes. Whole-wheat flour and brown sugar replace the white varieties, even in the ice-cream. There’s fresh tuna, trout and Adriatic white fish every day. All bread, noodles and pastries are made on the premises (try šufnudle, boiled dumplings).
