As Split’s hotel stock improves so does the profile of its restaurants. Where once was standard local menus at the many downtown venues, are now increasing vegetarian and international options. Up Café, for example, offers flavoursome vegetarian fare; Samurai offers quality sushi, some with a Dalmatian twist. Of course, traditional food can still be found in every street. Fine fish and seafood can be enjoyed at places such as Bota Šare, Boban, Kadena and Noštromo; while neighbourhood stalwarts like Konoba Hvaranin, Oštarija u Vidjakovi, Konoba Marjan, Stare Grede and Šperun continue to draw discerning locals who expect quality Dalmatian food at affordable prices.
